Moisture induced loads on model grain silo

A model has been developed for predicting swelling pressure of wetted grain. The model considers superposition of two basic reactions of kernels on water addition: swelling of kernels and decrease in their elasticity with the moisture content increase. It was found that model properly describes the swelling pressure in a range of the moisture content increase up to 0.02.
