Report on wheat varietal investigation at RARS, Nepalgunj 1997/98

Wheat genotypes were evaluated at RARS, Nepalgunj under rainfed condition to identify the high yielding disease resistant/tolerant genotypes suitable for mid and for western terai environment. In Nepal Reinfed Nursery (NRN) out of 114 genotypes 19 were selected for further evaluation. In Initial Evaluation Trial (IET) top yielding genotypes observed are BL 1692, NI 808, NL 870, NL 882 and NI 875. Genotypes BL 1694, NI 750, NL 785, NI 842 and BJ 1742 were found high yielding in Coordinated Varietal Trial (CVT). The out standing genotypes observed in Regional Elite Varietal Trial (EVT) were BL 1671, BK 1813, NL 727, NI 728, NL 731 and NL 778.
