anglais. In Europe, man has influenced ecological differentiation within habitas through his grazing animals and even more by the extensive plant husbandry. The influence of plant protection products is relatively low, but on the long termpersistent. The intensification of agriculture has resulted in a considerable decline in the diversity of weed floras of arable fields. Any consideration of diversity of this vegetation has to be done on the ecological background of the natural and of the recent agricultural conditions which strongly influence the characteristic combination and optimal abundance of plant species

Im Vergleich zu den einschneidenden Biotopaenderungen durch pflanzenbauliche Massnahmen ist der Einfluss von Pflanzenschutzmitteln auf die Artenvielfalt der Aecker als zunaechst verhaeltnismaessig gering, aber - weil stetig wirkend - dochals nachhaltig einzuschaetzen. Die aktuelle Ackerunkraut-Vegetation reflektiert die exogenen und endogenen Standortbedingungen. Bei der Bewertung oekologischer Sachverhalte sollte die Artenvielfalt nicht allein quantitativ interpretiert, sondern unter demGesichtspunkt der charakteristischen Artenausstattung der jeweiligen Pflanzengesellschaft und der oekologischen Funktion ihrer Komponenten in der Biozoenose beurteilt werden
