Lead and cadmium in tissues from horse, sheep, lamb and reindeer in Sweden
1999
Jorhem, L.
The levels of Pb and Cd were low in all muscle tissues, with the exception of Cd level in horse muscle. The Cd level in reindeer kidney is higher than in most other domestic animals, again with the exception of horse kidney, whichhas extremly high Cd levels. In most cases, there was reasonable agreement between the results and those from other surveys. In some cases, however, the difference were surprisingly large, considering that all results are derived from presumbly uncontaminated animals. It is highly probable that some of these differences are due to different analytical procedures as well as different perceptions of analytical quality control.
