Runoff and soil loss under conventional tillage for cereal production in south-east Poland

The results of the experiment show that spring wheat and spring barley are almost twice more effective in soil erosion protection than corn cultivated for grain. The range of reduction is similar to the data presented by USLE handbook. The largest problem for soil conservation planning with USLE and RUSLE models in the climatic and soil conditions of SE Poland are large monthly variability of erosion index and long periods needed for obtaining stable K values (longer than 4 years, as it was in the experiment)
