anglais. The productive results of greenhouse Mission bell eggplants have been analysed in relation to grafting on Energy tomato and to soil fumigation with methyl bromide. The grafted plants, especially when grown on untreated soil, showed higher yield; its response, as regards the production timing and qualitative characteristics of the fruit, was similar. For these reasons the grafting of eggplant on tomato can be considered a useful tool to overcome phytosanitary problems in protected cultivation

Sono stati analizzati in serra i risultati produttivi della melanzana Mission bell in rapporto all'innesto su pomodoro Energy, dotato di resistenze multiple, ed alla sterilizzazione del terreno. Le piante innestate hanno assicurato piu' elevati livelli produttivi soprattutto su terreno non trattato, ma non hanno manifestato differenze in ordine all'epoca di maturazione ed alle caratteristiche qualitative dei frutti. L'innesto della melanzana su pomodoro, sulla base di tali risultati, puo' essere pertanto considerato, almeno sotto il profilo agronomico, un mezzo valido per controllare gli effetti della stanchezza del terreno in coltura protetta
