The results of investigation contains the evaluation of the effectiveness of tested openers in improving the infiltration of water in ruts. They demonstrated that the double-blade opener gave a better protection of soil against water erosion in all four depth combinations. The basic reason of the better infiltration was the operation of a lower blade, rising the soil on the depth of 11-14 cm. The effectiveness of such opening is higher, since the operation of the lower blade takes place after the upper knurl stopped working. The tested opener is meant for shallow cultivation of soil in ruts during sowing. It is not appropriate for soils with large content of stones
