In an experiment, conducted on 180 sows and their piglets, the influence of two probiotics on the number of live born piglets, their birth mass, feed consumption, losses in the suckling period, body mass at weaning, and on the body weight gain, feed conversion, losses from weaning until the end of the experiment at 42nd day of age was evaluated. Three experiments with three groups (control, probiotics A and B) of 20 sows were done. Sows received probiotics during the last 14 days of pregnancy and during the suckling period. Their piglets received the same probiotics during the suckling period and 156 weaners in each experiment, 52 weaners in each group during the rearing period respectively. No statistical significant influence of the two probiotics on the evaluated parameters was observed.
