Factors influencing the growth of Greek manufacturing firms in the period 1982-1992 and Gibrat's law
1997
Rova, K.
The relationship between firm growth, size and age has been the subject of numerous theoretical and empirical studies. These studies can be classified into: a. the early growth literature in which growth was assumed to be independent of size, Gilbrat's law and b. the recent growth literature where several works focused on verifying Gilbrat's law while most of them examined other variables that affect growth related to the industry environment and several firm attributes besides size such as age, investment, number of plants and other firm specific characteristics. The present thesis extends the literature on growth by studying Greek manufacturing firms, the growth of which has not been studied to our knowledge.
