Consequence of Mo - S and Si on the production and some morphological parameters of annual seed crops [Zea mays L. - Glycine max (L.) Merr. - Phaseolus vulgaris L.]

Based on the knowledge already gathered in the past to the beneficial effect of some trace elements on the growth of grain legumes, we have further investigated how Mo, S and Si affect some morphological parameters under Quebec microclimate conditions. The most beneficial effect of Mo-S-Si addition at the rate of 3-30-30 kg/ha, either alone or in combination, was the enlargement of edible/biomass ratio, due to reduced foliage; this is the most desirable trait for present day mechanised agriculture. It is interesting to note that these treatments have a tendency to shift aluminium from husk to leaf organs, when these reach maturity. Interaction among these treatments on production and evolution of some plant and soil parameters are discussed

[Sulla base delle conoscenze gia' acquisite in passate riguardo all'effetto benefico di alcuni microelementi sulla crescita delle leguminose da granella, abbiamo ulteriormente studiato come Mo, S e Si influenzano alcuni parametri morfologici nelle condizioni microclimatiche del Quebec. L'effetto piu' benefico dell'aggiunta di Mo, S e Si al livello di 3, 30, 30 kg/ha, sia soli, sia in combinazione,era l'aumento del rapporto fra parte commestibile e biomassa totale, per la riduzione del fogliame; questo risulta il carattere maggiormente auspicabile per l'attuale agricoltura meccanizzata. E' interessante notare che questi trattamenti presentano la tendenza a deviare l'alluminio dalle porzioni fruttifere agli organi fogliari, quando questi raggiungono la maturita'. Sono discusse le interazioni fra questi trattamenti nei riguardi della produzione e l'evoluzione di alcuni parametri della pianta e del terreno]
