Some tests, carried out by the Research Group of Milan, concerning Varroa jacobsoni Oud. control, tried to verify the efficacy of oxalic acid and of a formulation based on thymol gel placed in different containers. In both cases the activity of the products against the mite was verified. In the first case the results were good: 100% of activity was achieved for the treatment with and without brood, but with an average much higher for the first one (98,5% compared to 80,0%). Tests with thymol confirmed a valid performance of the active ingredient, obtaining a high efficacy for all tested packaging (99.34% for aluminium, 98.21% for Petri plate, 90.37% for Blister)

Una parte delle sperimentazioni condotte dall'Istituzione di Ricerca di Milano relativamente alla lotta a Varroa jacobsoni Oud. ha riguardato l'uso dell'acido ossalico e l'impiego di un formulato a base di timolo in gel posto in contenitori diversi, per individuare quello piu' idoneo all'uso applicativo. In entrambi i test si voleva verificare l'efficacia di abbattimento dell'acaro. Nel primo caso i risultati sono stati buoni, raggiungendo il 100% di mortalita' per il trattamento, sia in presenza, sia in assenza di covata, ma con una media nettamente a favore del primo (98,5% rispetto all'80,0%). Le prove con timolo hanno confermato l'affidabilita' del prodotto, fornendo un'alta percentuale di efficacia per tutti e 3 i contenitori utilizzati (99,34% per il contenitore di alluminio, 98,21% per la capsula Petri, 90,37% per il Blister)
