Impact of harvest number on marketable fruit yield of several hot pepper cultivars
2001
Buczkowska, H. (Akademia Rolnicza, Lublin (Poland). Wydzial Ogrodniczy)
The 1998-2000 studies aimed at investigating the impact of the number of harvests (multiple, double, single) on the marketable yield of four hot pepper cultivars (Bronowicka Ostra, Cyklon, Orkan, Tajfun) cultivated in a field. The number of harvests did not affect the mean marketable yield of hot pepper fruit significantly but interacted with the mean number of marketable fruit per area unit. Significantly more matured fruit was harvested from multiple than from double and single harvest. Across cultivars the mean marketable fruit yield did not differ significantly. "Bronowicka Ostra" and "Cyklon" were earliest and their mean commercial yield share in the total yield as well as mean number of fully matured fruit against all the fruit harvested were higher as compared with the others
