Rare earth elements in the alluvial soils of central Vistula valley and Zulawy

The objective of the present paper was to determine the total content of some rare earth elements: lanthanum (La), cerium (Ce), prazeodymium (Pr), neodymium (Nd), samarium (Sm), yttrium (Y), scandium (Sc), thorium (Th) in tilled alluvial soils. The distribution of rare earth elements in profiles of alluvial soils was uneven and it depended mainly on texture of the soils. Distinctly higher contents (except of samarium) were stated in those profiles or horizons indicating stronger texture, while in the layers of loose sand only trace amounts of the elements were detected
