Paper presented the method applied to investigation of the progress in agriculture and to evaluating activities of modernized (developing) family farms. Author proposed separating of technical progress and the analysis of technological progress effects against the background of new procedures of balancing results of farm economic situation. Methods and indices to valuating the effects, inputs and costs, production and mechanization effectiveness, were also verified on real and modelled farms under survey
