Paper discussed the effect of the thickness of heat insulation layer on occurrence of water vapour condensation inside the multilayer walls of a livestock building. Two walls differed in building materials used for thermal insulation were analysed. Ambient air temperatures were given (-13.9 to -12.3 deg C for foamed polystyrene and -9.4 to -4.6 deg C for mineral wool, depending on layer thickness) which initiate the condensation phenomenon and localize the plane of condensation. It was found that in case od foamed polystyrene the water vapour condensation took place inside insulating layer, while at mineral wool within the layer of aerated concrete, but at higher outside temperature
