Heavy metals in soils and sulphate minerals on rock surfaces as indicators of pollution of the environment (on the example of the Bieszczady Mts, Eastern Carpathians)

The paper presents results of the research on the heavy metal content in the soils of the Bieszczady National Park and the investigation on the chemical weathering of the surface of sandstone outcrops in the described area. The results have showed that both the concentration of heavy metals (Cd, Pb, Zn) as well as microscope images (SEM) and spetrometric analyses (EDS) prove that the Western Bieszczady Mts are among those parts of Poland where is no chemical pollution of the environment
