The twelve Hylaeus species were observed on carrot flowers during the years 1990-97. An attempt of rearing of Hylaeus was also performed since the year 1991. The carrot pollination by Hylaeus was investigated in rearing cages during five years. These bees may increase the seed yield of carrot. This increasing amounted 25 percent by one female, and 65 percent by four females for one square meter. The Hylaeus (and especially H.sinuates) are the valuable pollinators of carrot, which should be carefuly protected. They may be successful used for pollination of breeding materials of carrot in isolated conditions
