Drying of red beet cubes in fluidized bed

Process of drying blanched red beet cubes in fluidized bed was studied as affected by the temperature of drying agent. The cubes (10x10x10 mm) were dried in a laboratory fountain drier from the initial moisture content (dry basis) 7 kg/kg to final moisture content 0.1 kg/kg. The process proceded at constant height of material bed in drying chamber (0.12 m) and constant air flow velocity (7.6 m/s); drying agent temperature was changed within the range of 50-90 deg C. The effects of temperature on drying rate and the value of mean moisture flux per volume unit of drying chamber, were determined. The results were presented in form of diagrams and correlation equations
