In 1994-96 three series of field experiments were conducted on two variable factors with the method of random subblocks. It was investigated the effect of N fertilization (150 kg N ha exp (-1)) and various grass species of tetraploid cultivars (perrenial, Italian, Westerwold, hybrid ryegrass and meadow fescue) as components of mixtures with red clover on the content of mineral components in the forage. It was found that N fertilization significantly lowered the content of Ca and Mg, but had no effect on content of P and K. The species composition of the mixtures had an effect on the content of all the components assayed (P, K, Ca, Mg). Mixtures of clover with grasses compared with clover alone contained less Ca and Mg and had higher molar ratio of K to the summ of Ca and Mg
