Testing of estrification process of rape oil for tractor fuel in the prototype production plants of 400 litres output
2002
Frackowiak, P. (Przemyslowy Instytut Maszyn Rolniczych, Poznan (Poland))
The aim of the work was to empirically verify the designed in the PIMR Poznan fuel production plant of 400 ddm output for making fuel out of rape oil. Three such plants of 400 W type were subjects of the testing. They had been built on the basis of developed in PIMR technical documentation. The testing consisted in carrying out measurements during work of the plants. Hence it was possible to assess the functionality of each individual plant. Measured were: parameters of reacting substances and products of reactions as well as energy and power consumption in the individual phases of the manufacturing process. In order to prove the usefulness as a fuel of the methyl esters obtained out of the rape oil - two car engines were also tested. In these cases tested were: work failure frequency, stability of engines parameters when using the cars, ecological properties, that is smokiness of the exhaust gas and at last fuel consumption per passed mileage unit
