In 1995, the residual effects of pea and field bean and N fertilization on winter rape growth and development were studied, and in 1996, 1997 the effects of pea and field bean on spring rape were the objective of the study. The development of winter and spring rape was assessed with respect to plant morphology prior to harvest (height of plants, the number of branches per plant, height to the 1st yielding branch, the number of pods per plant, the number of seeds per pod, the weight of seeds per pod and the weight of 1000 seeds) and seed yields. Chemical analysis of rape seed included: crude oil, crude protein and dry matter contents. The rape grown after field bean was higher and so were the weight of seeds per pod, seed yield (by 21 percent winter, 19 percent spring) and crude protein contents (winter and spring rape)
