This study aimed at the comparison of exangeable cation ( Na+, K+, Ca2+, Mg2+) content in soil of a conventional farm neighbouring with an ecological one, which has the ECOLAND certificate. These farms are situated in an area bordering two geographic regions: Drawsko-Plane, and WaÆcz Lakeland. The exangeable forms of calcium, magnesium, sodium were assassed by AAS after extraction with one-molar solution of sodium acetate. Exangeable potassium was analysed by Egner-Riehm metod. The total content of exangeable cations in soil was calculated by summing up the contens of Na, K, Ca, Mg cations expressed in milimols. No explicit relationship between the exangeable calcium, magnesium and sodium contents and the kind of farm compared was found. Soil from the ecological farm contained less available potassium than that ecological farm. As far as the total exangeable cations were concerned, the largest share had exangeable calcium, whereas the content of the other three elements did not differ
