Comparison of yielding of selected commercial and cross-bred strains of shiitake (Lentinus edodes Berk. Sing.)

The yielding of some selected commercial and cross-breeding strain of shiitake was examined. Commercial cultivar CS-53 and 37 x 37 and cross-breeding strains MS11/31, MS56/3, M80, M112 were used in the experiment. The significant differences between strains for total and marketable yields of carpophores were found. Strains MS56/3, MS11/31, CS-53, 37 x 37 showed higher mushroom yields and usefulness for commercial production
