Une pourriture de Brachiaria ruziziensis sur sol podzolique est apparue en mai 1978 en Guyane française. Une bactérie pectinolytique appartenant à l’espèce Erwinia chrysanthemi a été isolée ; les biotypes et sérotypes ont été comparés à ceux d’autres souches d’E. chrysanthemi.
