This volume describes the different approaches to the EIA concept that have been taken by the legislator in the various countries. The study should serve to dispel a number of misconceptions and place the subject once again in the context of agricultural development. It also seeks to show the diversity of the juridical solutions and administrative techniques available, and to engender the conviction that what is needed is a gradual, simple and pragmatic approach
