Problems of natural regeneration of Georgian oak (Quercus iberica Stev.).
2022
The natural regeneration of Georgian oak (Quercus iberica Stev.) stands in the Kvemo Kartli region has been studied according to the forest types under the conditions of low - 0.3-0.4 and medium 0.5-0.6-0.7 density of canopy. The study of the state of natural regeneration was carried out based on the results of the processing and analysis of literary sources, afforestation materials and field assessment works conducted at the research object. Along with the oak, the state of natural regeneration of other species growing together with it was studied. As a result of the research, the state of natural renewal of Georgian oak is not satisfactory in any forest type, at the same time, in the same forest types, there is an improvement in the indicators of natural renewal of oak species, which allows us to say that there is an undesirable trend of species change - Georgian oak is being replaced by relatively low-productivity species.
