Note
"This technical reference (TR) provides instructions for the application of the lentic proper functioning condition (PFC) protocol. It is not intended to serve as a textbook addressing every aspect of lentic area and riparian-wetland function and ecology. The lentic PFC protocol addresses the physical functioning of perennial or intermittent lentic riparian-wetland systems, such as swamps, ponds, or marshes ... The PFC assessment protocol is not intended for use on ephemeral systems, which do not support the vegetation, riparian-wetland functions, and values that depend on extended periods of available free water in the soil"--Page 3.
