Success stories in Asian aquaculture

This book captures the trends and lessons-learned that have driven the evolution of Asian aquaculture, augmented with comparable cases of small-scale fisheries. Cases were chosen to reflect activities that have impacted livelihoods of different socioeconomic groups and that have strongly contributed to aquaculture sustainability. Asian aquaculture is a small-scale farming activity, where most practices are family-owned, managed, and operated. It accounts for more than 85% of global production. The stories presented in “Success Stories in Asian Aquaculture” reflect its unique nature, providing insight into how and why it has become successful.
