Estudio fitoquímico, antibacteriano, antifúngico y determinación de metabolitos secundarios mayoritarios por CG-EM del látex de la especie dioica Clusia multiflora Kunth (Clusiaceae). | Phytochemical, antibacterial, antifungal study and determination of major secondary metabolites by GC-MS of the latex of the dioecious species Clusia multiflora Kunth (Clusiaceae).

Clusia multiflora es una especie dioica originaria de Colombia. Tradicionalmente su exudado ha sido utilizado en el proceso de tinturación de lanas, y medicinalmente como purgante, antiinflamatorio y cicatrizante (DAMA, 2000). En estudios anteriores (Lokvam & Braddock, 1999; Lokvam et al. 2000), se ha encontrado actividad antibacteriana en los extractos etanólicos del látex de ambos sexos de las especies del género Clusia, sin embargo, no se reportan trabajos de este tipo para C. multiflora. En este estudio, la actividad antibacteriana y antifúngica presente en el extracto etanólico del látex de la especie dioica C. multiflora, fueron investigadas. La metodología se realizó en cuatro fases, la primera, a través de pruebas fitoquímicas preliminares las cuales arrojaron la presencia de los metabolitos secundarios taninos, flavonoides y quinonas, principalmente, en los extractos etanólicos de ambos individuos. La segunda fase consistió en la aplicación del método propuesto por Kirby–Bauer modificado, de difusión en agar por perforación en placa contra las bacterias Gram (+) Bacillus subtilis y Gram (-) Escherichia coli. La tercera fase fue llevada a cabo con la técnica de difusión en pozo en medio Sabouraud Glucosa Agar, contra el hongo Fusarium oxysporum. Y finalmente, se determinaron los metabolitos secundarios mayoritarios por medio de la Cromatografía de gases acoplada a espectrometría de masas (CG-EM). Se determinó que los extractos etanólicos de ambos sexos de C. multiflora presentan actividad contra la bacteria Gram (+) B. subtilis y, por el contrario, no presentan actividad contra la bacteria Gram (-) E. coli, a su vez ambos sexos de C. multiflora presentan actividad contra el hongo Fusarium oxysporum. Se encontraron las Quinonas como metabolito secundario mayoritario, específicamente Clusianonas (7-epi clusianona y 18,19-dihidroxi-clusianona), según lo encontrado por la CG-EM. Los resultados concuerdan con lo reportado en la literatura para las especies pertenecientes a la familia CLUSIACEAE.

Clusia multiflora is a dioecious species native to Colombia. Traditionally its exudate has been used in the process of wool dyeing, and medicinally as purgative, anti-inflammatory and healing (DAMA, 2000). In previous studies (Lokvam & Braddock, 1999, Lokvam et al., 2000), antibacterial activity has been found in the ethanolic extracts of the latex of both sexes of the species of the genus Clusia, however, no work of this type is reported for C. multiflora. In this study, the antibacterial and antifungal activity present in the ethanolic extract of the latex of the species C. multiflora, were investigated. The methodology was carried out in four phases, the first through preliminary phytochemical tests which showed the presence of the secondary metabolites tannins, flavonoids and quinones in the ethanolic extracts of both individuals. The second phase consisted in the application of the method proposed by Kirby–Bauer modified, of diffusion in agar by perforation in plate against the bacteria Gram (+) Bacillus subtilis and Gram (-) Escherichia coli. The third phase was carried out with the well diffusion technique in Sabouraud Glucose Agar medium, against the fungus Fusarium oxysporum, and finally, the main secondary metabolites were determined with the technique Gas Chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (GC-MS). It was determined that the ethanolic extracts of both sexes of C. multiflora have activity against the Gram (+) bacterium B. subtilis and, on the contrary, do not present activity against the Gram (-) bacterium E. coli. Both sexes of C. multiflora show activity against the fungus Fusarium oxysporum. And Quinones were found as the main secondary metabolite, specifically Clusianones (7-epi-clusianona y 18,19-dihidroxi clusianona), as found by CG-EM. The results coincide with those reported in the literature for the species belonging to the CLUSIACEAE family.
