Descripción de tecnologías híbridas para el tratamiento de agua residual doméstica | Description of hybrid technologies for domestic wastewater treatment

La presente monografía aborda la revisión a nivel tecnológico de los diferentes reactores híbridos para el tratamiento de agua residual doméstica, de tal forma que se permita dar respuesta a la pregunta de investigación relacionada con la selección de un reactor híbrido para el tratamiento de agua residual doméstica en un contexto colombiano. Se utilizó una metodología que consistió en primera instancia en plantear la descripción de diferentes tecnologías híbridas en el tratamiento de agua residual doméstica, en donde se pueden encontrar anaeróbico, biológico, UASB, entre otros; asimismo se analizó los distintos criterios de diseño de cada reactor que permiten identificar y reconocer los requisitos mínimos para su construcción. Es importante mencionar que en Colombia son muy pocos los casos en donde se han implementado esta clase de reactores debido a requieren ser monitoreados constantemente para evitar la generación de malos olores y su funcionamiento puede llegar a ser lento, sin embargo, los resultados principales obtenidos durante la elaboración de este documento permitieron determinar que estos reactores podrían ser una gran alternativa en cuanto al tratamiento de agua residual doméstica puesto que según consultas realizadas en diferentes fuentes bibliográficas pueden eliminar DQO aproximadamente del 70 % y 48 % (Lew, 2004) y eliminación de DBO entre el 70 % al 91 % (Banu, 2007) recalcando que generalmente son de bajo costo, de igual forma tienen la capacidad de ser adaptados en cualquier piso térmico y finalmente tienen la posibilidad de combinarse con otros reactores mejorando su funcionamiento frente al tratamiento de agua.

The present monograph addresses the revision at the technological level of the different hybrid reactors for the treatment of domestic wastewater, in such a way that it allows to answer the research question related to the selection of a hybrid reactor for the treatment of domestic wastewater in a Colombian context. A methodology was used that consisted first in describing the different hybrid technologies for the treatment of domestic wastewater, where anaerobic, biological, UASB, among others, can be found; also, the different design criteria of each reactor were analyzed to identify and recognize the minimum requirements for their construction. It is important to mention that in Colombia there are very few cases where this type of reactors have been implemented because they require constant monitoring to avoid the generation of bad odors and their operation can be slow. However, the main results obtained during the elaboration of this document allowed to determine that these reactors could be a great alternative in terms of domestic wastewater treatment since according to consultations made indifferent bibliographic sources they can eliminate COD of approximately 70% and 48% (Lew, 2004) and elimination of BOD between 70% to 91% (Banu, 2007) emphasizing that generally they are of low cost, of equal form they have the capacity to be adapted in any thermal floor and finally they have the possibility of combining with other reactors improving their operation as opposed to the water treatment.
