Studies on the content of protein and oil in grain, total sugars in 6 tetraploid populations, calculations of the energy value of grain have been carried out. An increased content of protein and oil in tetraploid grains was established in comparison with the diploid standard. The dynamics of selection for high protein and high oil content in tetraploid maize (Zea mays) populations has been calculated. Comparison of total sugar content in caryopses homozygous for the su2 gene did not reveal significant differences between 2n and 4n caryopses, while some differences were found in sugar fractions. The creation of new high-yielding hybrids based on the VIR collection of tetraploid maize populations will allow breeders to significantly expand the genetic polymorphism and range of modern maize breedingachievements. / Проведены исследования содержания белка и масла в зерне, общих сахаров в 6 тетраплоидных популяциях, расчеты энергетической ценности зерна. Установлено повышенное содержание белка и масла в тетраплоидном зерне по сравнению с диплоидным эталоном. Рассчитана динамика отбора на высокое содержание белка и масло в тетраплоидных популяциях кукурузы (Zea mays). Сравнение общего содержания сахаров в зерновках, гомозиготных по гену su2, не выявило существенных различий между 2n и 4n зерновками, в то время как некоторые различия были обнаружены во фракциях сахаров. Создание новых высокоурожайных гибридов на основе коллекции тетраплоидных популяций кукурузы ВИР позволит селекционерам значительно расширить генетический полиморфизм и спектр современных селекционных достижений кукурузы.
