Current Status, Some Yield and Structural Characteristics of Dairy Cattle Production in Muğla Province

This study was carried out to identify the current structure and problems of dairy cattle breeding in Muğla province and to find out the ways how to solve their problems. Fifty questionnaires with breeders from all the districts of Muğla were conducted for the study. According to the obtained results, dairy cattle husbandry in the region is mostly performed by adults with low education level. At the end of the study, it is seen that dairy cattle breeders prefer Holstein, Brown Swiss and Simmental cattle. Intensive production is preferred in dairy cattle enterprises. The dairy cattle enterprises are mostly face with some problems such as lack of selling their products properly, insufficient pasture, animal health problems and obtaining cows with high genetic capacity.
