Extract: The purpose of this bulletin is to evaluate the effects of instability in Soviet corn imports on the U.S. domestic corn/livestock and export corn markets. A structural econometric model is specified which portrays the process by which the various market sectors adjust to shocks. Identification of the nature of the transmission of instability then provides information which may be used to formulate policy to control or ameliorate its effects.
