Extract: The overall objective of this study was to assess current and potential fertilizer use in the Dominican Republic from an agronomic and economic point of view. the study included an analysis of the marketing system, with special emphasis on physical infrastructure and institutional arrangements. the specific objectives of the study were: 1. to review present fertilizer use by crops. 2. to evaluate the potential for increasing fertilizer use. 3. to evaluate the physical infrastructure for importing, storing, handling, and distributing fertilizers. 4. to evaluate present policies, research, and educational activities as they relate to fertilizer usage.
