Abstract: The text is intended for prospective and working managers who wish to continue their education and development of management skills. Topics include 1) the background and development of management philosophies, techniques and functions; 2) the importance and purpose of planning through forecasting, scheduling and developing goals, strategy and time frameworks; 3) formal and informal organization; 4) staffing and management development programs; 5) motivation through understanding human needs and behaviors; 6) leadership sources and theories; 7) behavioral and managerial control functions, including performance measures; and 8) present day issues: social responsibility and the effects of the computer.
