Economic models of crop response to irrigation: a state-of-the-arts assessment
1981
Ayer, H.W.
Abstract: Economic models of crop response to irrigation have been developed for many regional level irrigation decisions. The effects of alternative irrigation technologies, water prices, water quantity restrictions, new reservoirs and the 160 acre limitation on aggregate farm profits, crop supply, irrigation return flows, and water use have been or can be evaluated with existing or modification of existing models. Economic models for farm level irrigation decisions have advanced considerably in the last decade, but received little on-farm use. However, the results of some models can and should be used for some, but not all, farm level irrigation decisions.
