Daniel Poppleton was born in Vermont in 1784, moved to Ohio, and became the first settlers in Hartford Township, Licking County, Ohio. By the time of his death he was owner of a large and productive piece of land. He was the first Justice of the Peace in Hartford Township. With a few exceptions the entries of this account book are debit items only.
