Report of a study conducted on plant material and fertilizing schedules on coal mine overburden materials at two coal mines (Usibelli and Jonesville) in Alaska near Anchorage. Proper fertilization and certain grasses (tufted hairgrass, Bering hairgrass, red fescue, hard fescue, polargrass, Kentucky bluegrass) were found to produce and maintain adequate cover for soil stabilization.
