The food available in the USA is abundant, wholesome, and diverse; it is among the safest in the world. These qualities can be attributed not only to considerable advances in science, medicine, and food technology, but also to the US laws, which govern the safety and economics of domestic and imported food products and thus contribute effectively to the prevention of foodborne illness.
