Singh, Satyendra Pal | Pachauri, S. P.
The present study evaluated the effect of dietary supplementation with liquid feed supplement (Ostovet Fort) on the milk production and reproduction. The study was conducted on 30 lactating buffaloes during summer and 30 buffaloes in winter season. The selected lactating buffaloes were divided into three uniform buffalo groups of 10 buffaloes in each on the basis of their post calving period. All the buffaloes were dewormed with micronized albendazole (Albomar suspension) and supplemented with Ostovet Fort @ 100 ml per day for a period of 50 days. Supplementation of liquid feed resulted in immediate increase in milk production during first week and sustained the increasing trend in subsequent weeks of lactation. The overall increase in milk production was 28.80 per cent in summer season and 26.26 per cent in winter season. The overall conception rate was higher in winter season and lesser during summer season.
