The effect of Effective Micro-organism Technology on the growth performance of broiler was studied. The Effective Micro-organisms (probiotic) culture included strains of lactic acid bacteria (Lactobacillus) and other organisms such as, bifidobacterium, yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae). Two hundred, day old, broiler chicks of ‘Vencobb-300’ strain were randomly distributed into four treatments of 50 chicks with five replicates of 10 chicks in each treatment on similar body weight basis. The experimental chicks were fed with EM culture viz. T₀ Standard broiler ration without EM culture i.e. Probiotics (control), T₁ Standard broiler ration with 0.025 per cent EM culture (Probiotics) (250 g/ton of feed), T₂ Standard broiler ration with 0.050 per cent EM culture (Probiotics) (500 g/ton of feed), T₃ Standard broiler ration with 0.075 per cent EM culture (Probiotics) (750 g/ton of feed). The higher body weight, weight gain (504.40 g) was observed in treatment T₁ followed by T₃, T₂ and control. It showed that treatment T₁ was significantly (P < 0.01) superior over control (T₀) and T₂ whereas at par with T₃. The body weight indicated that broiler chicks receiving 0.025 per cent EM feed grew significantly (P < 0.01) faster as compared to control followed by T₃ (0.075 per cent EM culture) and T₂ (0.05 per cent) EM culture.
