A laboratory study of the erodibility of disturbed soil
1990
Vories, E.D. | Bernuth, R.D. von
Soil erosion is a serious problem throughout the world. Even though erosion by water has been studied for many years, there is still much that is not known. The erodibility of a soil and how it can vary under different conditions need to be better understood to help reduce soil losses. A unique procedure was developed to investigate soil loss and a laboratory study conducted using disturbed and relocated East Tennessee agricultural soils under simulated rainfall. A relationship was derived to describe the erodibilities observed in the tests; but more observations are necessary to determine whether the relationship will apply to situations other than those included in the study. Additional work is needed to determine a more widely applicable relationship.
