Consumer attitudes toward pasta: Results of a national study
1984
Riter, Charles B.
Consumer attitudes toward pasta were determined in a national survey. The results from a 12-month study of food, nutrition, and dieting assessed American attitudes, habits, myths, and perceptions about diet and nutrition. The purpose of the study was to provide the wheat-based food industry with information so educational and consumer programs could be planned. The objectives of the study, the demographic characteristics, and pasta product information are discussed along with the survey results. Seventeen charts present the results of the findings on issues such as how much attention is given to nutritional labeling, familiarity with dietary guidelines, price/value perception, frequency of product usages (products from the 5 food groups are included), ways pasta products are served, and a profile of frequent pasta users.
