Various ways in which dietitians participate in the nutrition education of the public are presented. Of all health care workers, the health visitor has the best opportunity to advise on feeding the family. The dietitian can provide this information as the need arises and as a part of regular in-service training programs. Opportunities for dietitians to participate in health education campaigns in such places as health centers, youth clubs, and parent-craft classes are described. A national coordinating committee would stimulate inter-disciplinary cooperation in nutrition education.
