Leader-led and self-instruction worksite programs
1986
Nowlin, B.J. | Shortridge, R.
With employee medical benefits costs on the rise, more employers are motivated to promote good health--particularly through nutrition at the worksite. To aid in this process, the Dairy Council of California developed group instruction and self-instruction programs. Two key nutrition areas were addressed: achieving nutritional adequacy; and alleviating nutrition-related health concerns such as obesity, cancer, heart disease, and osteoporosis. Methods used, employee participation procedures, and specifics of personalized plans are discussed. An 88% success rate was achieved for those completing the program.(jd-b)
