A report describes a community-based model for communicating nutrition information in the agricultural context of sub-Saharan Africa, which takes into account the limitations of nutrition education programs in some developing countries. Specific attention is focused on: historical lessons learned from 3rd world programs; the characteristics of the communication model and its program content; and an evaluation of the impact of the model-based nutrition education program. Agricultural and nutrition extension agents can effectively apply this model to their field work.(wz)
