Forestry in Nottinghamshire
1992
Brady, A.
Forestry in Nottinghamshire is best known for its historical associations with the old Royal Forest of Sherwood. The history of the County's woodlands is described against the background of its physical geography and human development. The part played by the Forestry Commission and other landowners in the past and present management of woodlands is described. The high population density of the County produces a number of pressures on woodland but also provides a number of positive management opportunities. The future development possibilities for forestry in the County are discussed with reference to these and other influences.
