Un cas d’ostéopathie métaphysaire compliquée d’une parvovirose

A four-month-old male border collie was referred for reluctance to move and hyperthermia for 2 weeks. At physical examination the dog was febrile, had diarrhea and pain was elicited during palpation of the metaphyseal region of the long bones. Considering the age of the dog, metaphyseal osteopathy was suspected and confirmed by radiographic examination. The diarrhea was suspected to be infectious (viral, bacterial or parasitic) or alimentary. The dog was not vaccinated and a fecal parvovirus antigen Elisa test confirmed parvovirosis. The treatment was complicated by the fact that the dog had both infectious disease and metaphyseal osteopathy. A favorable response was observed with judicious use of anti-inflammatory drugs.
