Statistical analysis of farm questionnaires to search for differences between GM- and non-GM-maize

In a pilot study in 2001 to 2004 farmers were asked about potential effects related to the cultivation of genetically modified (GM) maize, as well as about background information on the environment, cultivation methods and on individual situations by using a questionnaire. We analysed the data from 183 questionnaires on their structure and on the significance of any potential GM effects. The results of this pilot study gave knowledge about statistical methodology and baseline values for certain monitoring parameters.
