The first section of this paper presents the objectives of our research team in investigating fabric modeling. We show why it is necessary to model yarns before modeling fabrics. In order to integrate the yarn model into the fabric model, we define an adapted yarn geometry, then we describe the yarn model. This model is a system of juxtaposed bars integrating yarn dynamic behavior. Selected dynamic components of the model are traction, bending, air viscous friction, and mass, leading to defined specific coefficients for each component. Finally, we present a detailed analysis of the parameters influencing yarn bending or falling. The aim of this work is to sensitize ourselves to the influence of each parameter on falling and to check the yarn model. For that, starting from an initial vector of parameters, each component of this vector is separately varied, and the effect on the dynamic behavior of falling yarns is observed.
